We are delighted that you have chosen Essa Academy for your child’s secondary education. We cannot wait to welcome the class of 2031 into our academy, where they will begin the next stage of their academic journey. We are excited about the potential of this year’s group to make outstanding progress and achieve great success.

Our students are the most important people at Essa Academy, and they deserve to achieve the very best outcomes they are capable of. We believe that this is the foundation of a great school and are proud to achieve this through our commitment to being truly child centred. As part of the Northern Education Trust, we are dedicated to ensuring that everything we do is focused on what is best for children, enabling them to succeed both academically and personally.

We understand that the transition from primary to secondary school can be both an exciting and daunting time. To support students and their families, we offer a range of transition experiences designed to help every child feel confident and prepared. During this transition period, Year 6 students will have opportunities to visit Essa Academy, meet fellow students, get to know staff, attend lessons and take part in a variety of engaging activities.

We are very much looking forward to these transition activities, as this is when we begin bringing together students from a wide range of primary schools to form the Essa Academy Class of 2031.

Further details about the transition period will be shared soon but we are delighted to share that our Transition Day will take place on Wednesday 1st July 2026, with some enhanced transition days for some students to take place that week too.

We will continue to work closely with our partner primary schools to ensure we are fully prepared to meet the needs of every individual student. Thank you once again for choosing Essa Academy.
